In order to reduce carbon emissions, shipping costs, and speed up production, I decided to have all the factories in the same location, Italy. I also try to make the production in the same factories to reduce miss communication and the production can be faster and smoother. The factories I found from Open Supply Hub, both have had affiliation before with Stella McCartney.
For fiber and yarn production, FILARTEX SPA is a factory that has the ability on selecting the best fibers and yarns for the accomplishment of a high textile product is a skill obtained over years of experience. In addition, Filatrex also has certifications that ensure that the production process is sustainable, such as using renewable resources, have the Global Organic Textile Standards Certified (GOTS) certification, Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified, and more. I put fiber and yarn production in the same factory because the two processes are very close together.
CAMAC SRL is the selected factory for fabric and garment production which are on Tier 2 and Tier 1. CAMAC is highly specialized in cutting , models , variants , fit, and sewing so they can manage a complex set of tasks and turn it into a single, seamless and effective product development flow. They are also sustainable by having GOTS certificate, Certificate of energy origin, and Repower Energy sustainability certificate.

Stella McCartney is a brand that started on the basis of being a fully sustainable, luxury brand. So naturally, when selecting manufacturers sustainability was at the top of my priority list. I decided to use viscose for this specific design because it is one of the most used fabrics in all of Stella McCartney's lines and is one of the best sustainable fabrication options. All of the chosen factories place sustainability at the forefront of their production, so their values align well with the brand's values.

Our brand takes sustainability to a whole new level with their transparency and openness to their customer about their business practices in terms of production. Their sustainable vision is guided by and accountable to the bold values of the brand. By making every action count, inspiring trust and celebrating life is the way that Stella McCartney as a whole runs their company all the way down to the factories they choose as well.
The cotton is 100% organic, responsibly sourced and GOTS-certified. Not only that but it is grown without toxic chemicals and using 70% less water compared to conventional cotton. That is why i picked the cotton producer from India because they are known for using organic cotton, sustainably putting the fibers together and passing it on to the next producer with ease. However, even with an easy transport system I chose to keep the fiber and yarn production in this same factory to minimize shipment time and in order to keep the process as sustainable as possible.
VM FABRICS LTD is based in the UK where our brand is located therefore the travel time would cut costs and the company would be able to overlook the making of the fabric itself which might be the most important step for a luxury designer. Il Molino SRL is based in Italy and is a bit farther away however, the reviews and their sustainability report was unmatched. Therefore, I decided it would be better to choose this factory for our garment producer instead of one that is based in the UK or closer. Both of these factories are sustainable by having a GOTS certification and the Re-power Energy Sustainability Certification which are two major factors in choosing factories.
